E.ON: alert level deemed ‘understandable’

(CercleFinance.com) – In response to the current reduction in Russian gas flows to Germany and the associated uncertainties, E.ON describes the decision of the German government to declare the alert level (‘Alarmstufe’) as ‘understandable ‘.

‘Declaring the alert level does not change the baseline status quo at this time. In its daily report, the Federal Network Agency describes the gas supply situation as tense but stable,’ says the energy group.

E.ON says its gas customers in Germany “continue to be reliably supplied” and that its contracted gas volumes on European wholesale markets are currently supplied by suppliers in accordance with signed contracts.

“In the current situation, it is crucial that the German government now creates the necessary framework conditions for a possible scenario of a significant reduction in gas import volumes”, however warns E.ON.
