E.ON: collaboration with Nikola in the green heavyweights

[ad_1]

(CercleFinance.com) – E.ON, Germany’s third-largest energy company, announced on Friday that it would join forces with American electric vehicle manufacturer Nikola to ‘decarbonise’ the heavy-duty transport sector.

In a press release, the two groups explain that they want to set up a joint venture which will combine the ‘Class 8’ electric truck designed by Nikola and the establishment of a European infrastructure for the supply of green hydrogen, to which will be associated maintenance.

E.ON and Nikola – who have so far simply determined the outline of their partnership – now plan to find a definitive agreement that will allow them to seal the terms of their cooperation.

According to the timetable adopted, their joint venture should see the light of day by the end of the year and be accompanied by the development of a whole series of related joint projects.
