EA gets busted for awkward tweet about single-player games

Electronic Arts is no longer necessarily close to a bad buzz, but it must be said that this one is particularly upset. Wanting to surf on a trending meme a few days ago, the official account of the American publisher has become the laughing stock of the industry, including within its teams.
There is no bad publicity as they say. But this time Electronic Arts is going strong, alienating players who appreciate single-player experiences.. Certainly Twitter has a short memory and in a few days everything will be forgotten; meanwhile, the backlash caused by a simple tweet was particularly violent.
The tweet that goes wrong
Trending on Twitter a few days ago, the meme “he/she’s a 10, but…”, was taken up by the CM or the Electronic Arts teams, for a message that players did not necessarily want to hear from one of the biggest players in the industry. The tweet can literally be translated as “They are 10/10s, but they like single player games”implying that liking solitary experiences would be a big failing. Since its publication, the post has reached 18K RTs and continues to generate a lot of comments at the time of this writing.. It’s actually quite surprising on the part of Electronic Arts to have this clear-cut opinion on the issue, with titles like Dead Space or Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which are exclusively solo titles.
A message derided by the industry
The tweet was picked up by competitor accounts (Bandai Namco, NiS) and many creators commented on this position. We are not going to list them for you, however there is one that should be noted: that of Vince Zampella, director of Respawn Entertainment. It is to him and his teams that we owe titles like Apex Legends, but also Jedi Fallen Order, one of the best Star Wars solo games of recent years. An emote that says a lot about what he thinks of this message, while he is currently at the bedside of a very important solo game for a publisher who does not seem to be well aware of what is in development within his studios.
