This month of March 2024 promises to be difficult for fans of certain games that are part of the EA stable. For good reason, a certain number of them are preparing to meet a disastrous fate, as was the case for others in 2023. The appointment has unfortunately been set, but who is targeted by this decision? There isn’t just one, and we’re not talking about just anyone. In particular, we find several opuses from the same franchise. We can say that fate will be harsh on her.
EA drops the ax on several games
Remember, last year, the multiplayer mode of Dead Space 2 or Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was closed by EA. This is not the publisher’s first attempt, even if he sometimes provides explanations. In this case, this could be due to various reasons, such as licenses expiring or a community that has moved on. Anyway, on March 21, you will no longer be able to access a total of 7 games. If you have things to finish in it, it’s now or never.
Here is the list of defunct titles: F1 2011, F1 2012, F1 2013, F1 2014, F1 Race Stars, Micromachines World SeriesAnd Rocket Arena. As you can see, the F1 franchise has taken what it deserves. We are therefore mainly dealing with racing games, and consequently, the pill may have difficulty passing for fans of the genre. We haven’t really had an explanation from EA, but overall, we imagine that it is due to the fact that players prefer the more recent opuses of certain licenses.
But be careful, we only made the list of games killed by EA in March. It’s sad, but there will be more to come in the months that follow. We have, for example, Madden NFL 20 which will suffer a similar fate on April 15, 2024. We can also cite Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth in May or Super Mega Baseball 2 in July.
