EA Sports FC 24 unveils its official cover and delivers a presentation trailer

We will not return to the bickering between FIFA and EA Sports, and the desire of the latter to free itself from the first. Either way, pixel football fans are hungry for their annual fix. A hunger that will be satisfied on September 29, 2023, since EA Sports FC 24 will arrive on PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Series on this date. While waiting to be able to attend a complete breakdown of the gameplay of EAS FC24scheduled for July 13, 2023, EA has therefore delivered the image of the cover of the Ultimate version, with a nice line-up of stars, and a trailer presenting its future spearhead of the game at 11.

EA Uncanny Valley FC 24

Let’s start by shooting the elephant in the room: how ugly. Certainly, this meeting of big names in football from various eras has the merit of proving that yes, EA does have official licenses. And this also marks a break with the habit of previous years, with the systematic highlighting of a single superstar on the cover of the annual FIFA. The fact of having used 3D models rather than making use of the photos of the players is justified by the presence of old and new glories of football. But it will be difficult to say that the result is successful, as the term “embarrassing” seems appropriate to qualify the aesthetics of the jacket.

EA’s official press release largely highlights the presence of Selma Bacha, nominated for the 2022 Ballon d’Or, who is currently playing at Olympique Lyonnais. This one split a comment concerning its presence on the cover ofEA FC 24: “It’s a real honor to find myself on the cover of a game like EA SPORTS FC 24 and to be in the midst of football glories and players that I admire. I did not expect it at this stage of my career and it makes me very happy. I hope I can continue to inspire young girls all over the world to follow their passion for football both on the pitch and with a controller.”.

EA did not just throw this cover to the lions, the publisher also posted a presentation trailer for its future title. Dubbed by Daniel Kaluuya in VO (Get Out, Black Panther, Nope), the promotional film aims to anchor in the minds that EA Sports wants to build a global community around EA Sports FC 24. Hence the slogan “Welcome to the Club“…
