A few years ago, most of the community laughed at EA SPORTS wanting to drop the name. But last October, all signs pointed to an end to the collaboration between EA and FIFA.

Reports have said that FIFA is asking EA for $2.5 billion to continue their deal. In the end, EA confirmed that they considered changing the name of their iconic franchise to something different while dropping the name FIFA.

According to journalist Jeff Grubb, it seems that they have agreed on a new name for the series. And it’s a name already known to the franchise.
“EA Sports Football Club, EA Sports FC is the name of the game”Jeff Grubb said on his GrubbSnax show.
He continued: “I saw trademarks for it, I thought it would just be a feature like an online mode. I asked around… but that’s it, that’s the name.”
For players who experienced FIFA 15 a few years ago, the name EA FC will undoubtedly bring back memories. This was the name used for the in-game catalog and the social center to view your friends’ activity.
