EA Sports WRC: a big new thing for VR players, there will be some disappointed people!

At the end of last year, Electronic Arts And Codemasters launched EA Sports WRCthe first part of rally games from the studios which recovered the rights after Nacon And Kylotonn. The title is already available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, additional seasonal content has been added, but studios now make another announcement.

EA Sports WRC will be playable in VR starting tomorrow with a free update. Drivers will be able to take part in special stages in virtual reality on PC via SteamL’Epic Games Store Or EA App and win the World Rally Championship with a helmet on his head. Matthew Battison, creative director of the game, said:

We’re really excited to bring VR to EA Sports WRC. Thanks to VR, players will be able to experience the rally directly through the eyes of the driver and fully immerse themselves in the challenging experience offered by the WRC. They’ll feel the adrenaline rush of reaching incredible speeds and performing gravity-defying jumps across asphalt, gravel and snow, all while soaking up the highly detailed environments of the game’s 18 locations.

EA Sports WRC will be playable in VR “with all the single and multiplayer modes of the game” and “a wide range of headsets will be compatible”, including the Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro, Valve Index, Oculus Rift S, Oculus CV1 and even HTC Vive. The developers specify that this is a beta, the experience may not be completely optimal, the game is also “partially” compatible with the HTC Vive Cosmos and Vive Pro 2. And no, nothing is planned for the PlayStation VR 2 of the PS5 of SonyShame.
