Easter services: All information about Easter fairs on TV, radio and stream

At Easter 2020, because of Corona, believers will have to forego church visits. A worship program is designed to compensate for this.

Easter 2020 is a great challenge for believers. Attendance at services is currently not possible due to the coronavirus pandemic. In order to be able to celebrate literally the resurrection of Christ from home, the ARD broadcasters, ZDF and the private broadcaster Bible TV, k.TV and NB-TV have expanded their program of religious broadcasts. The churches themselves will also provide live streams. Here is an overview (April 10 to 13, 2020).

Good Friday and Holy Saturday

On Good Friday the first broadcasts an evangelical service from the St. Petri cathedral in Bautzen at 10 a.m. with pastor Christian Tiede. At 3 p.m. Bible TV will broadcast Good Friday liturgy from Münster, NB-TV from Passau and k.TV from Wemding. Also at 3 p.m., numerous churches make a livestream available on their websites. These include: Munich, Aachen, Cologne, Dresden and Karlsruhe. The Good Friday liturgy with Pope Francis from Rome follows at 6 p.m. on k.TV. At 9 p.m., Bavarian TV broadcasts the Way of the Cross with the Pope live from the Colosseum in Rome.

On Holy Saturday, the churches in Limburg, Munich, Regensburg, Wuppertal, Cologne and Leverkusen will offer a live stream for the Easter night from 9 p.m. At 9 p.m. k.TV broadcasts the Easter night with the Pope from Rome, NB-TV shows the Easter night from Passau. The ZDF broadcasts the Easter night at 11 p.m. with Bishop Kohlgraf from Mainz. Radio stations also broadcast services from Easter night: Bayern1 from Würzburg (9:05 p.m.) and SWR4 and SR2 from Überlingen (10:00 p.m.).

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, the ZDF broadcasts the evangelical service from the hall church in Ingelheim at 9:30 a.m. Live streams from the churches in Munich, Regensburg, Leipzig or Bonn, among others, are available at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m., the first and Bavarian television show "Easter in Rome", the service with Pope Francis. At 12 noon, the "Urbi et Orbi" blessing from Rome follows on both channels. This is also broadcast by the radio stations Bayern1 and MDR / Kultur.

Easter Monday

On Easter Monday, NB-TV shows the service from Passau. The first at 10 a.m. the service from the St. Nicolai Church in Lemgo. Live streams from the churches of Cologne, Leverkusen or Hilden follow at 11 a.m. At 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. the Easter days come to an end with the worship streams from Eichstätt and Weiden.
