Want to combine all your interests on a family trip? This only works in an amusement park. There are more than 200 in Germany alone, which are often suitable for a day trip. If you want to stay longer, you can stay in crazy themed hotels in many places. And make all family members happy. Grandma can go to an artistic show. Dad fly into space. Mom racing through steep curves on a motorcycle. The son sits on the roller coaster with virtual reality glasses and the little daughter takes a boat ride with the cartoon pig girl Peppa Pig. 1. Europa-Park Rust: Modern adventures for the whole family
Germany’s largest theme park is located in Baden-Württemberg on the border with France and Switzerland. It is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, as its facilities alone indicate: 16 European and three fantasy-themed areas, 13 roller coasters, the Rulantica water world, 45 themed restaurants and bars, six adventure hotels and more than 100 attractions and shows. Anyone who manages to leave the gigantic water world with its new racing slide and eight tube slides won’t believe their eyes at the YULLBE VR experience center. Innovative virtual reality experiences await there, in which the boundaries of reality disappear and the impossible is suddenly possible. A new benchmark for VR experiences, capable of even topping the Euro-Mir high-speed roller coaster. Which races downwards at 80 kilometers per hour, rotates on its own axis and comes to an emergency stop shortly before a black hole.

2. Therme Erding: Diving and action in the world’s largest thermal bath
No matter what the weather is, the Easter holidays are the perfect time for an adventure pool. How about the largest thermal baths in the world? The water world of superlatives is located near Munich Airport. The 28 water slides and 40 pools alone make up a day-long action program. If you prefer something a little quieter, you can float in the sulfur and fluoride-containing thermal water from the Ardeo spring and enjoy its proven healing properties. 35 saunas and steam baths invite you to relax in style afterwards. You can go on a journey around the world – from the Alps over the Orient to Siberia and back to Tuscany. There are also private lounges as part of the Royal Day Spa – if parents want to treat themselves to something special while the kids let off steam with the many water activities. On Saturdays there is often a cinema under the palm trees: cinephiles float comfortably on pool chairs in the 34 degree warm water of the wave pool lagoon and watch cinema bestsellers on an XXL screen.

3. Legoland Günzburg: The fascination of colorful stones
68 attractions, eleven themed worlds and more than 57 million Lego bricks: Legoland in Günzburg, Swabia, is a place of superlatives that makes children between the ages of two and twelve happy. New is the Mythica themed world, where new Lego creatures are created from children’s imaginations – a realm of creativity on 12,000 square meters. But it’s not just building Lego bricks that’s on offer here, there are also wild rides like the 17-meter-high Maximus roller coaster or the Fire & Ice Tower, which gives you butterflies in your stomach from a height of nine meters. The parade always starts at 4 p.m. with themed floats, mascots, glittering costumes and the Legoland song, a catchy tune that haunts visitors for a long time. If you can’t get enough of the captivating games and adventures, you can also spend a short vacation here. In the new forest adventure lodge or in the Legoland holiday village, just a few minutes’ walk away.

4. Holiday Park Haßloch: World’s best roller coaster and dinosaur rafting
Rooarrr! DinoSplash is the name of one of the most popular attractions in the Palatinate theme park – a rafting adventure in rushing waters with rapids and waterfalls among dinosaurs. If you get wet, you can quickly dry your clothes on Sky Scream, a catapult roller coaster. There are also intense adrenaline rushes on the BigFM Expedition Geforce, where you take off into weightlessness at top speeds of 120 kilometers per hour. How wild the ride is is demonstrated by the roller coaster’s numerous awards as the best in Europe and even the world. For those who aren’t quite as brave, Holiday Park Haßloch has a number of alternatives – from Maya the Bee Land to an adventure forest and an antique horse carousel to Mia’s elf flight.

5. Adventure park and wildlife paradise Tripsdrill: Full steam ahead into animal fun
100 attractions and 50 species of animals including yaks, arctic wolves and bears: The oldest amusement park in the republic is located between Stuttgart and Heilbronn, in Cleebronn. All family members can test their courage on six roller coasters – from the fun ride in the Racing Centipede to the adrenaline rush in the Catapult Karacho, which accelerates to a speed of 100 km/h in 1.6 seconds. New for the 2024 season is the Wilde Gautsche. A gigantic swing in the style of a 19th century loading crane. What looks harmless is actually quite powerful, as it goes up to twelve meters. Little visitors can look forward to soap box races, a laundry basket sightseeing flight or the Moggelesbahn, where piggies, rabbits and hedgehogs can go into the countryside. The attached wildlife park, which is home to wolves, bears, lynxes, wild cats, birds of prey and wild horses, is also popular with families.
