EasyJet orders 56 A320neo family aircraft from Airbus

BARCELONA (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Low-cost airline easyJet announced on Tuesday that it has ordered 56 Airbus A320neo family aircraft from Airbus, and converted 18 A320neo aircraft into as many A321neos.

The planes should be delivered between 2026 and 2029. The conversions are expected between 2024 and 2027, the group said.

Based on 2018 list prices, the aircraft’s total value is $6.5 billion but, under a 2013 deal with the European plane maker, easyJet will pay a “significantly lower” price. .

Funding will be spread over several years. It will rely on internal resources, cash, sale-leaseback transactions and debt, but no fundraising should be offered to shareholders.
