Dow gains slightly and hits record high

Traders said that the stockbrokers would have to digest various economic data. The number of initial jobless claims in the United States has decreased for the third time in a row. A total of 375,000 Americans applied for government support last week. Economists polled by Reuters had calculated exactly with this value. In the seven days before, there were 387,000.
US producers raised their prices in July more sharply than ever before. The producer prices rose by 7.8 percent compared to the same month last year. This is the strongest increase since the beginning of the data series in 2010. Economists had only expected another plus of 7.3 percent.
The chip manufacturer’s shares Micron Technology collapsed 6.4 percent. Stock traders pointed to a downgrade of the papers by Morgan Stanley. Ebay made an ascent and descent. In the end there was an increase of 1.3 percent. The online retailer is feeling the easing of the corona measures. Quarterly sales and outlook were below the analyst forecasts.
The shares of Palantir Technologies with a price increase of more than eleven percent. The data analysis firm had previously forecast sales above market expectations.
Encouraged by solid company balance sheets, Europe’s investors remained in a record mood. the Dax closed 0.7 percent stronger on Thursday at 15,937 points, after climbing to a high of over 15,964 points. the EuroStoxx50 rose 0.5 percent to 4226 meters.
