A mower that can be adjusted with the finger and the eye
The EcoFlow BLADE first stands out from the competition thanks to its ease of use. Unlike all other robot mowers, the first start is very simple. Here, there is no question of wasting hours stretching cables to mark out your land and delimit the area of intervention of the device.
To do without such an installation, EcoFlow has placed a LiDAR sensor and a camera on the front of the BLADE robot mower. These two elements work in concert with the X-Vision real-time navigation system, and allow you to precisely map your garden in 3D.
From the EcoFlow application available on Android and iOS, you can then define virtual limits and prohibited areas, like what exists for robot vacuum cleaners. On first use, you must then move the mower along the desired boundaries. But, no need to rush to your BLADE, because it is by the force of your finger and via the screen of your smartphone that you will control the mower.
Since the BLADE is likely to be out of range of your home Wi-Fi network, EcoFlow has equipped it with a 4G chip and an eSIM and offers you its mobile plan for the first year. This also allows it to be tracked in the event of theft.
To ensure ultra-precise GPS navigation, EcoFlow delivers its mower with an antenna. Planted in the garden, it precisely guides the camera in its walks.
Enjoy your free time, BLADE doesn’t need you
Once the initial settings have been made, all you have to do is program the mowing routines on the app. EcoFlow then allows you to determine the rotation speed of the blades (slow, normal or dynamic), as well as the height of the cut (20 to 76 mm). And that’s all !
The BLADE robot mower takes care of cutting the grass for you and even picking up debris such as twigs or dead leaves and places them directly in the adjoining collection bin (optional). To detect all the litter to be swept away, the mower relies on both its LiDAR sensor and its on-board camera. This is a first for this type of device, the other models on the market systematically rejecting waste on the ground.
In addition, EcoFlow has planned everything to make its BLADE all-terrain. The machine has two large 20 cm diameter omnidirectional wheels at the front to facilitate movement and changes of direction. The mower is also operational on sloping ground, provided that it does not exceed 27 degrees.
The BLADE can even determine its ability to cross obstacles, or not. For this, the device relies on its camera and its LiDAR sensor. If an object encountered measures less than 4 cm, it can cross it thanks to its large wheels. Beyond that, it bypasses it.
Even with a large garden, the BLADE never lets you down
Once the BLADE is programmed, it no longer needs your intervention. This is all the more true as it displays a good autonomy and charges intelligently. With a full battery, this robot mower works on average for 4 hours. Enough to work on an area of 1,200 m² at a rate of 300 m² per hour.
If the area to be mowed is too large, and the battery runs out, the machine automatically returns to its base to recharge, before returning to finish its work.
