Ecomiam maintained a solid commercial momentum in the 2nd quarter of 2022/23

(Boursier.com) — ecomiam, France’s No. 3 specialized frozen food distributor, publishes its store sales for the first half of the 2022/23 financial year (period from October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023).
In food markets which now seem to be set in a lasting inflationary context, ecomiam maintained a solid commercial momentum in the 2nd quarter of 2022/23, materialized by store sales up 17.6%, to 10, 3 ME.

At constant sales area, 2nd quarter store sales increased by 13%, in line with the 1st quarter, despite a national context marked by economic conditions impacting household purchasing power and their consumption behavior.
Thus, over the first half of 2022/23 as a whole, ecomiam continued its development and recorded store sales up 19.4% (+12.9% at constant sales area) benefiting from the opening of 2 new stores in Brittany (Bain-de-Bretagne) and Occitanie (Cazères) and despite the closure of 5 stores that do not offer sufficient development prospects.

With a network of 65 points of sale as of March 31, 2023, the group remains focused in the short term on improving the performance of its existing network while reaffirming its 2025 ambitions of reaching 125 points of sale.

The commercial performance of the 1st half of 2022/23 is supported by the gradual ramp-up of the 29 points of sale opened in 2020/21 in the new regions in the commercial conquest phase, which mainly contribute to the increase in footfall (+7.8 % for the entire network in the 1st half of 2022/23).

Thus, given the good level of activity achieved in this first part of the 2021/22 financial year, ecomiam anticipates a slight improvement in the gross margin.

Deployment of new growth drivers

In order to support the dynamic deployment of the network, ecomiam is continuing its targeted customer relationship actions while strengthening the brand’s reputation throughout the territory:
launch of the sponsorship program (January 2023) to strengthen word-of-mouth, intensification of consumer behavior analyzes through a new tool.
Finally, in accordance with its fair price commitments, ecomiam continued its strategy of a competitive commercial policy adapted to the challenges of the moment with a 75% freeze on sales prices over the first 5 months of 2023.

The great novelty of this semester is the launch of a new “gourmet bowls” offer, individual gourmet recipes ready to reheat made exclusively from products present in the ecomiam offer and guaranteed 100% French origin.

Next communication with the results for the 1st half of 2022/23, on June 8, 2023 (after market).
