In 2023, Ecovacs released the Goat G1, a robotic lawnmower that works without a boundary wire. Therefore, all you have to do is set up transmission towers and no longer lay cables or fasten them with lawn nails.

At 1,600 square meters, it sits between two of the manufacturer’s new robotic lawnmowers. The Ecovacs Goat G1-800, as the name suggests, can only look after up to 800 square meters of lawn.

But it is also a little cheaper. The larger Goat G1-2000 model has a total area of up to 2,000 square meters. The first G1 would be an option for you if you don’t own such a huge garden or small park.
We tested the Goat G1 for 1,600 square feet. It can navigate through your garden with a maximum of ten masts, but is dependent on your WiFi signal ex works.

A cellular module is available separately. The workmanship is flawless and setting it up via the app is no problem. Depending on how much space you have, you will have to pay some attention to the placement of the station.
In our test on a U-shaped, 600 square meter lawn, five poles weren’t really enough. Overall, according to our tester, the Goat G1 does its job well. Two masts are included in delivery.

The Ecovacs Goat G1 is the manufacturer’s first robotic lawnmower. Instead of the RRP of 1,599 euros, you only pay 1,399 euros at Amazon. In the test, we were impressed by how easy it was to set up and operate, but the robotic lawnmower also impressed us with its effective and quiet operation. The robot is suitable for a total sewing area of up to 1,600 square meters.
