Specializing in domestic robotics, the Ecovacs brand unveils its new range of robot lawn mowers. A GOAT range (that’s its name), which ignores perimeter wires.
If you have a garden, you have probably already looked at robot lawn mowers, which take care of the lawn for you. However, most require the installation of a peripheral (or perimeter) cable which will indicate the limits of the mowing zone to the device. This can be placed on the grass (and fixed with pins) or buried in the ground, to a depth of 5 to 10 centimeters. Enough to discourage some…
Two new robot lawn mowers from Ecovacs (without peripheral cables!)
Spring is here, and the lawn is (again) starting to grow. And while some are thinking of equipping themselves with a robot to escape the chore of mowing the lawn, Ecovacs is adding two new models to its GOAT range of robot mowers. We thus find the GOAT G1-800 in gray and white as well as a brand new premium robot GOAT G1-2000 supplied with a garage.
One of the big advantages of this new range is the “wireless demarcation” mode. Goodbye to the manual laying of a boundary cable, and make way for a simple mapping of the area to be mowed, carried out in just 20 minutes according to Ecovacs. Everything is done using a simple smartphone.

Please note that each mower is supplied with navigation markers to plant in your garden, depending on the shape of the garden and any obstacles (hedges, trees, sheds, etc.). These will act as UWB signal masts to connect to the mower and locate it precisely in space.
Two beacons must be separated by a maximum distance of 45 meters to allow the assembly to function, it is therefore essential to determine in advance the number of beacons necessary for the proper functioning of the mower.
Towards (finally) simple and autonomous mowing?
The first model, Ecovacs GOAT G1-800, is intended to be the ideal companion for gardens up to 800 m2. In addition to simplified installation, the manufacturer describes its autonomous mower as a “garden guardian”, thanks to its two cameras which can be controlled on the application. This template comes with two navigation tags.
There are also 4 operating modes, a 22-centimeter blade and 13 cutting levels.
As for the GOAT G1-2000 robot lawn mower, it covers up to 2,000 m2 lawn and comes with a covered charging station that allows the robotic mower to be protected from wind, weather and UV rays from the sun. Furthermore, the mower is sold with a total of 4 navigation beacons (and it is obviously possible to add more, as an option, if necessary).
We will also benefit here from all-terrain wheels (possibility of moving on slopes not exceeding 45%) as well as an 8.7 Ah battery, compared to 4.0 Ah for the G1-800. A premium model therefore, reserved for large spaces.
Price and availability
In terms of price, the new Ecovacs GOAT G1-800 mower is priced at 1,099 euros. The premium GOAT G1-2000 model is priced at 1,999 euros. These two robot lawn mowers are already available for sale.
