Ed Sheeran has been the father of a little girl since August last year. The birth of Lyra changed his life, made him a healthier person, as he now confesses.
Ed Sheeran, 30, is a world star, has sold millions of records, and the whole world knows him. And that’s exactly what bothered him for a long time. He tried to numb fears with unhealthy food and alcohol. Today the singer knows that it wasn’t good for his health. Because he has changed one thing since the birth of his daughter Lyra – and lost almost 30 kilograms!

With the break he had taken, the Briton had actually wanted to achieve something else. A little distance from the superficiality of the media world, distance from everything in order to find yourself again. But the opposite happened. Ed lived an unhealthy lifestyle, hardly paying any attention to himself or his health. “I think the worst thing for my health was taking time off and not being on tour as I drank every day”, says the 30-year-old. What got him out of trouble? His wife Cherry and their daughter Lyra.
When Cherry was pregnant, the penny dropped. Lyra has motivated me the most to make my life healthier. I think this is a change everyone should go through when they have a child.
This is how Ed Sheeran saved himself
The “Shape of You” interpreter realized at some point that his weight could develop into a health problem. “In my prime, I weighed almost 100 kilos, now I think it’s 70. I was fat, you could really see that.”

Ed Sheeran even got his drinking problem under control. He told The Sun: “I quit three months before Lyra was born [zu trinken, Anm. d. Red.]Because I really wanted to be the one who takes my wife to the hospital. “To give up alcohol completely, Ed is critical of that, because he knows that he would start again at some point if he would forbid it himself. And so he has found a way to deal with it. “I still do all the things I love. I drank wine yesterday, but I didn’t drink two bottles. “
