Shortly before the entrance: Ed Sheeran had to cancel a concert in Las Vegas on Saturday. Now the reason for the cancellation has become known.

Ed Sheeran (32) had to cancel a concert in Las Vegas at extremely short notice. “I can’t believe I’m writing this, but there were some problems setting up our show in Vegas,” the singer wrote on Instagram. Twenty minutes before admission to the performance at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, those responsible pulled the emergency brake.

“I’m so sorry,” the Brit continued. “I know that’s what everyone came for and I wish I could change it.” The gig will be rescheduled for October 28th this year. The purchased tickets remain valid.

Shaking stage towers as a reason for cancellation

Later revealed the British newspaper “The Sun” the reason for the cancellation. There were problems with the stage flooring. This was revealed after Sheeran’s team brought in their equipment the day before their scheduled performance. Rubber sheets are said to have come loose overnight, causing two stage towers to shift. According to The Sun, engineers reinforced the towers, but they were still shaking. The cancellation followed for security reasons.

Ed Sheeran later shared the “Sun” article on Instagram and apologized again for canceling the show. Although it was out of his hands, the superstar took “full responsibility for everyone who was disadvantaged by the cancellation”. There had previously been criticism of the organizers on social media. Those present reported standing in the heat for hours without knowing what was happening.
