A very special surprise awaited the music students at Sheffield College on May 16th: Ed Sheeran suddenly appeared on stage.

Ed Sheeran (33) gave music students in Sheffield, England, a very special surprise. On May 16, the singer suddenly appeared at Sheffield College’s Drama and Music Theater as a student was performing Sheeran’s hit “Shape of You.” That reports including the BBC.

Much to the students’ surprise, Sheeran took the stage and performed the song himself, as well as his single “Castle On The Hill”. Then he picked up the acoustic guitar and improvised with the aspiring musicians, who, among other things, rapped to it. The global star then talked to the students about their career aspirations and answered questions about the music industry.

Angela Foulkes, chief executive and principal of Sheffield College, said it was “fantastic” to welcome Ed Sheeran to the institution. “It’s not every day that a world-renowned singer-songwriter comes along to share his talent, knowledge and experience with students and help them advance in their careers,” she enthused.
