Celestial, a clip inspired by the Pokémon universe, was released on Ed Sheeran’s channel, a big fan of the license.

Ed Sheeran is a big fan of the Pokemon universe. While the singer had previously collaborated with The Pokemon Company for Pokemon Go, a clip inspired by the Pokémon universe has just been published.

“Celestial”talks about the singer’s fascination with the Pokémon universe and will be in the video games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet which will be released on Nintendo Switch on next November 18.

I’ve been playing Pokémon since elementary school. My brother and I had different versions of the game and we traded Pokémon to complete our Pokédex. I really liked cards, but it was the games that really captivated me. I loved immersing myself in this universe, it took my mind off things when negative things were happening in my life or at school. It was an escape, a world I could take refuge in, and I haven’t stopped playing it ever since. I’m 31 today, but I still own the same Game Boy Color and play pokemon yellow Where Pokemon Silver on the plane or on the train when I’m on tour. It’s a huge honor to contribute a Pokémon game with a song and shoot a nostalgic music video. I hope you enjoy the song and the video. The shoot was awesome!

The music video was created by Yuichi Kodama, a multi-award winning Japanese videographer. Yu Nagaba, the artistic director, has meanwhile explored the theme of sketching influenced by the Pokémon drawings that the singer made as a child.
