The term global star truly applies to Ed Sheeran. The musician proved this at the weekend with his concert in India.

Weltstar has a double surprise Ed Sheeran (33) brought his fans in India to ecstasy. At his concert in Mumbai last weekend, the 50,000 or so people in attendance first couldn’t believe their eyes and then their ears: First, Sheeran conjured up local superstar Diljit Dosanjh (40) on stage and shortly afterwards sang his hit “Lover” – in the national language, Punjabi.

The Brit posted the memorable moment, which was also a first for Sheeran on his official Instagram account. He wrote: “Tonight I got to introduce Diljit Dosanjh in Mumbai and sing in Punjabi for the first time. I had an incredible time in India, there’s more to come!”

A welcome guest

It was the third time that Sheeran visited India on one of his tours. The star is currently on his massive world tour, which is divided into four stages. This includes over 100 shows and has been running for around two years. The concert at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai marked the finale of stage three, with the final quarter in Malta starting on June 26th. The tour will conclude on September 19th this year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
