GravitHy has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with EDF for a Nuclear Production Allocation Contract (CAPN) in order to secure part of the electricity supply for its future factory in Fos-sur-Mer.
The signing between the two companies of a letter of intent (LOI) relating to the conclusion of a Nuclear Production Allocation Contract (CAPN) will allow GravitHy to secure part of its future electricity supplies in France, a necessary condition for the realization of this project.
CAPNs are industrial partnership contracts making it possible to make a share of the power of the nuclear fleet in operation available to electro-intensive companies, for a period of more than 10 years, in return for sharing these costs and risks. on the volumes actually produced by this park. The price reflects the actual production costs of the existing nuclear fleet and includes an upfront payment.
GravitHy is an industrial company whose objective is to accelerate the decarbonization of the steel industry. GravitHy will produce, through the use of electrolytic hydrogen, low-carbon direct reduction iron. This project was made possible by the Government’s support for the transformation of the steel industry in France through the France 2030 plan.
