EDF: issues more than $3.3 billion in multi-tranche senior bonds


(CercleFinance.com) – EDF announces the success of its multi-tranche senior bond issue for a nominal amount of 3 billion US dollars and 500 million Canadian dollars (approximately 370 million USD).

Five tranches were issued:
• US$1 billion bond, 5-year maturity with a fixed coupon of 5.700%
• US$1 billion bond, 10-year maturity with a fixed coupon of 6.250%
• US$1 billion bond, 30-year maturity with a fixed coupon of 6.900%
• Bond of 300 million Canadian dollars, with a maturity of 7 years and a fixed coupon of 5.993%
• Bond of 200 million Canadian dollars, with a maturity of 30 years and a fixed coupon of 6.492%

These transactions allow the EDF group to continue strengthening the structure of its balance sheet and to refinance future maturities.

EDF adds that the expected rating for the USD Bonds and the CAD Bonds is BBB / Baa1 / BBB+ (S&P / Moody’s / Fitch).
