EDF: makes a point of precision on nuclear reactors

(CercleFinance.com) – EDF takes stock of the stress corrosion phenomenon (SCC) detected on portions of auxiliary circuit piping in the main primary circuit of several nuclear reactors.

On 10 March 2023, EDF proposed to ASN a change in its stress corrosion control strategy. EDF is speeding up the inspection of the welds concerned of the RIS and RRA systems, in order to take into account the elements identified on the repaired weld of Penly 1 ‘indicates the group.

ASN today indicated that it had taken note of this change in strategy and was continuing the technical dialogue with EDF in order to ensure the relevance of the schedule envisaged.

‘To date and on the basis of the control strategy proposed by EDF, the estimate of nuclear production in France for 2023 remains in the range 300-330 TWh’ adds the group.
