May 19 (Reuters) – EDF shares fell 2% on the Paris Stock Exchange on Thursday after the electrician revised upwards the impact of the drop in nuclear production on its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda ) in 2022.

The impact of the fall in nuclear production in France on EBITDA would be around 18.5 billion euros this year, the group said.

After detecting abnormal corrosion phenomena on certain pipes, EDF has in recent months shut down or extended shutdowns of 12 reactors, out of the 56 in the French fleet.

This is the third downward revision to the nuclear production forecast for 2022 in France since the start of the year. (Written by Kate Entringer, edited by Jean-Michel BĂ©lot)
