Orano NPS, a subsidiary of Orano, announces the recent signing of a long-term contract with Cyclife, the EDF entity in charge of dismantling and nuclear waste management, for the transport of sixteen steam generators (GV) uss.
The large metal components will be transported from their operating site in Germany to Sweden for processing at the EDF Cyclife industrial site.
The services cover the preparation, performance and coordination of multimodal transport – road, river and sea – exceptional due to the dimensions and masses of the SGs (approximately 300 tonnes, 19 meters long and 5 meters in diameter) and type ‘Rip & Ship’, ie combining the extraction of SGs and their transport.
