Edge X30 Pro: Motorola will present its flagship and the next Razr in early August

No summer vacation for Motorola, since the firm will hold a conference on August 2. It should be the scene of the announcement of its next flagship, the Edge X30 Pro, but not only. The Razr 3 may also be unveiled there.

After weeks of teasing and rumors of all kinds, Motorola is finally preparing to present its next two high-end smartphones. The first is none other than the Edge X30 Pro, the ultimate version of the X30 family. The second is its iconic folding knife, the famous 3rd generation Razr.

At a conference to be held on August 2 in China, Motorola will therefore lift the veil on its flagship, the X30 Pro. A rather expected smartphone, since it should be the first phone in the world to carry a 200 megapixel sensor. A new milestone would therefore be reached in the world of mobile photography, where Motorola is reversing the current trend of offering larger rather than more defined sensors. However, Motorola will not include the latest generation of sensors (Samsung’s Isocell HP3) and will surely be satisfied with the HP1 unveiled last year. Indeed, the firm indicates on Weibo that its sensor measures 1/1.22 inch, which corresponds to the size of the HP1, when the HP3 measures 1/1.4 inch.

This main module should be accompanied by a 50 megapixel module (probably an ultra wide-angle) as well as a third 12 megapixel module, which could be a telephoto lens. For the rest, a 6.7-inch Amoled panel would be present, refreshed at 144 Hz. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 would obviously be there, coupled with 12 GB of RAM. The smartphone could be compatible with ultra fast charging at 125 W, without us knowing the capacity of its battery yet. It is also rumored that a 50 W wireless charge could be offered.

The Motorola Edge X30 Pro would not be the only one present on stage since the invitation card also includes the Razr 3, the Chinese company’s third folding test. On Weibo, we can see a larger external screen, two photo modules or even one end of the hinge where the brand name is engraved. From what we already know, this new Razr will also host the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 as well as 12 GB of RAM. Unfolded, its panel will measure 6.7 inches and it could be refreshed at 120 Hz. In terms of photos, Motorola would offer a nice improvement by equipping its terminal with a 50-megapixel main module, coupled with an ultra wide-angle of 13 megapixels. The front camera (therefore internal) would be 32 megapixels.

The two smartphones will therefore be formalized on August 2, with a release in China in stride. For France and the rest of the world, we will still have to be patient. No doubt they should arrive by the end of the year.
