Effective against sweat: The deodorant test winner at Stiftung Warentest

In addition to shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and the like, almost everyone has deodorant in the bathroom and uses it every day. But does it really help against odor and armpit wetness? The experts from Stiftung Warentest examined 19 deodorant sprays, including well-known brands such as Nivea or Rexona, natural cosmetics, but also own-brand products from Aldi and Lidl.

1st place was secured with the grade “good” (2.5) for the Sebamed Fresh Deo Fresh (look at dm). The test category “Protection against underarm perspiration” was included in the overall rating with a 60 percent weighting – and performed significantly better than the competition. Another plus point: You don’t have to dig too deep into your pocket for the test winner. Although the Sebamed product is not one of the cheap own brands, it is not overpriced at 3.25 euros for 150 ml.

The judgment of the Stiftung Warentest on the Sebamed Fresh Deodorant fresh:

  • Protection against armpit odor: good (2.5)
  • Application: satisfactory (2.7)
  • Usability of the packaging: good (2.3)
  • Declaration and advertising claims: good (2.4)

Note: The test by Stiftung Warentest was published for the May 2021 issue. The test included 19 deodorant sprays.
