With eFootball 2022, Konami hoped to launch free-to-play which would be long term. And even if the publisher has not given up on its ambitions, it has had to face a lot of obstacles and criticism, the quality not being there for everyone. It still tries to satisfy its audience with updates and plans to add more free and paid content until at least 2023.

And for that, we will have to get up to speed in terms of numbers and numbering. Konami just announced that eFootball 2022 was going to be replaced by eFootball 2023 by the end of August 2022. Rest assured, this is just a cosmetic overhaul, so your progress and assets will carry over. However, expect to discover new national championships and some changes due to promotions, relegations and transfers. The year change has not yet been dated, but it will be preceded by a slightly longer maintenance than usual.
In order to prepare for the new season, we will update eFootball 2022 to eFootball 2023 at the end of August.
eFootball 2023 will include new domestic leagues and data updates to reflect promotions/relegations and player transfers.
In-Game Assets and Data Transfer

- Player data
- Manager data
- Goals
- Login Bonuses
- In-Game Items
- Settings
However, the following in-game assets are subject to change.
- Affiliation of players and managers
- Player Card Designs
Large-scale maintenance to update licenses
We plan to carry out large-scale maintenance in November as part of the transfer of in-game assets.
Following the large-scale maintenance, most Standard players signed into eFootball 2022 will have their affiliation and photo updated.
Additionally, players who are no longer available will be replaced with in-game items of similar value.
