Egide signs a Sale/Lease back agreement for 6 million dollars – 06/28/2022 at 18:24

(AOF) – Egide announced the signature between Tempus Cambridge LLC and Egide USA of a Sale/Lease back agreement for the Cambridge building for 6 million dollars. The lease attached to the transaction is signed for 15 years with an annual rent of 0.4 million dollars. “This agreement will significantly reduce US debt and facilitate the negotiation of new revolving lines of credit to replace existing lines of credit,” explained the manufacturer of hermetic enclosures and heat dissipation solutions for sensitive electronic components.

Egide thus benefits from an influx of liquidities that is beneficial both for working capital and to sustainably finance the modernization expenses of the facilities in Cambridge and San Diego.

Japan’s strong ambitions

The Japanese government is seeking to revitalize its electronic chip industry, with the objective of tripling turnover in 2030 compared to 2020. The Japanese sector would then represent the equivalent of 100.3 billion euros, in a market rapidly growing worldwide. The SIA (Semiconductor Industry Association) considers that Japan represented only 10% of world production last year, behind the United States (47%) and South Korea (19%). However, the country dominated the world chip market with 51% of production at the end of the 1980s. The Taiwanese TSMC has already chosen to create a 7 billion dollar factory in Japan, in partnership with Sony. Half of it should be financed by public subsidies.

The Middle East ESC

Still relatively unknown compared to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Gitex (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) in Dubai has existed since 1981 and attracts around 100,000 visitors a year. Even if it wants to compete with the CES in Las Vegas, and the region is a very tech-savvy market, the Gitex remains, despite its internationalization, still a regional hub for technology. The CES makes it possible to cover the United States, North America and Europe at the same time, while the Gitex rather covers the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In 2021 this event took place at the same time as the Universal Exhibition in Dubai. France was the second most represented country, behind Italy.
