Jennifer Hudson won a Tony Award in June. Now the trophy has finally arrived at the actress.

Jennifer Hudson (40) has a new roommate. The singer and actress received a Tony Award for producing the musical “A Strange Loop” in June 2022. Now she finally holds the trophy in her hands, as she shows on Instagram.

Hudson posted a photo of her proudly posing with the Tony Award. “See what’s arrived!!!” the star captioned the snap. Four other trophies can be seen on a piano in the background: two Grammys, an Oscar and an Emmy award.

Jennifer Hudson is in the EGOT club

The Tony was the last trophy Hudson needed to get inducted into the exclusive EGOT club. She has since won four major awards in US entertainment: Emmy (E – TV), Grammy (G – Music), Oscar (O – Movie) and Tony (T – Stage). Hudson is only the 17th person to reach this artistic milestone. Other members of the EGOT Club include legends such as Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993) and stars such as John Legend (43), Whoopi Goldberg (66), Mel Brooks (96) and Andrew Lloyd Webber (74).

In 2006, Hudson won the Oscar for best supporting actress in the film musical “Dreamgirls”. The first Grammy came in 2009, when she won the music award in the category “Best R&B Album” for her self-titled debut album. Another Grammy for Best Musical Album followed in 2017. In 2021, she won the Daytime Emmy Award for producing “Baba Yaga,” an interactive virtual reality fairy tale.

Jennifer Hudson has already found the next challenge. She will host her own talk show on US broadcaster FOX. In June, the all-rounder announced that the “Jennifer Hudson Show” would be on the air for the first time on September 12th. The actress also celebrates her 41st birthday on this day.
