Eiffage: builds a gigafactory


(CercleFinance.com) – Eiffage is building the first ACC electric battery gigafactory in Douvrin.

This future gigafactory dedicated to the production of cells and battery modules for electric vehicles is located near the PSA site within the Parc des industries Artois-Flandres, in Douvrin/Billy-Berclau in Hauts-de-France.

The total cost of the work amounts to nearly 75 million euros, including 48.7 million euros for Eiffage.

The contract relates to lot 1, which covers the all-trades construction of a building 644 m long and 94 m wide, 10 to 34 m high.

The project, which also includes 20 ancillary works and the rehabilitation of an existing building of 17,000 m2, represents a total floor area of ​​60,000 m2 supplemented by 36,000 m2 of roads.

The gigafactory, which should be the first factory of this type commissioned in France in April 2023, will have an annual production capacity of 8 GWh.
