(Boursier.com) — Eiffage , through Smulders (Belgian subsidiary of Eiffage Métal), won, in a consortium with the Dutch company Sif, the contract awarded by EnBW, a German energy company, for the manufacture of 64 transition pieces for the future EnBW He Dreiht offshore wind farm . Each transition piece will be 30 meters high and have a diameter close to 8.5 meters. Their unit weight will be just over 700 tonnes, including the secondary steel structures.
The transition pieces will be manufactured in Smulders’ English factory located in Newscastle upon Tyne. Their production will begin during the first half of 2023 and should be completed the following year.

Located in the German North Sea, the EnBW He Dreiht offshore wind farm will have a total capacity of 900 MW and is expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2025.

This new contract reinforces Smulders’ world leading position in the market for the manufacture of transition parts for offshore wind power. In early 2021, Smulders produced its 2,000th transition piece for the first French offshore wind farm in Saint-Nazaire.
