Due to the corona pandemic and the ongoing lockdown, Ekaterina Leonova cannot visit her parents in Russia. The situation is difficult for the dancer to endure.

Ekaterina Leonova, 33, emigrated to Germany 13 years ago – her parents and relatives continue to live in Russia. The former "Let's Dance" dancer normally visits her family regularly, but this is currently not possible due to Corona and the associated restrictions. A difficult time for the 33-year-old, when she missed her mother and father in particular.

Because of the pandemic, she cannot visit her parents in Russia

In an interview with "Bunte" she gave an insight into her emotional state. Initially, the lockdown was a stroke of luck for her, she admitted: "The forced break (…) was also good for me for a while, because before that I had dance training, dance workshops or dance shows every weekend and worked during the day. Then suddenly all weekends became free, that was something unimaginable for me. Now I suddenly even have time to watch TV. " But she would much rather invest her free time in friendships and family, bring her mom back to Germany and show her various beautiful corners, "she added at the same time.

"Sometimes it is difficult to be here alone. I would love to hug my parents more often and tell them what I am experiencing here. Of course we use WhatsApp and FaceTime, but that cannot really replace real contact, because you are the person can't look in the eyes or touch her hands, "she revealed in the interview.

When she is then in Russia and sees that her parents have gotten older again, that new wrinkles have appeared and they have shrunk more and more, then it hurts her heart, "because I know that they will not be there forever," she said they look sad.
