Every day the dancer posts a new photo of herself, now it has become very personal. Because Ekaterina Leonova spoke for the first time about the separation from her first great love and how much it affected her at the time. The two got to know each other at university, and it quickly became clear that they wanted to be together. But her boyfriend wanted to spend more time with Ekat, which she was unable to do because of the many dance training. So he parted. But then things got worse for the now 33-year-old. Because her dance partner at the time also let her sit. He had secretly started with another dancer.
"The first weeks after the breakup (from my love and from my dance partner) were not easy. I thought about what I had done wrong the whole time. I got the attention of the other guys (…) but I only wanted to see one" says Ekaterina looking back on the difficult times.
Happy ending for Ekat
In the end it was obviously fate, because in her blackest hour the tide turned for the better for Ekaterina. Paul Lorenz, her future dance partner, called her to invite her to Germany for a trial session. The rest is history. Ekaterina Leonova made a career in "Let's Dance" and is now a star on social networks. And yet the pain remains, because she lives thousands of kilometers away from her family – a circumstance that still makes her sad today.
