It is without warning that FromSoftware is preparing to deploy a major update for Elden Ring. The critically acclaimed and gamer-acclaimed game will welcome new and unexpected content.

Indeed, the focus this time will be on PvP clashes.

Waiting for a real DLC?

For several days, rumors concerning a hypothetical content to download for Elden Ring circulate on the web. Many observers even mentioned the possibility of an announcement this week during the Game Awards 2022 (which will take place on the night of December 8 to 9). The title of FromSoftware should also shine during the ceremony, since it is nominated in 7 distinct categories.

But while everyone was hoping for the reveal of a first DLC with substantial content, Bandai Namco takes us by surprise with the surprise announcement of an update. It can be downloaded for free on all media from this Wednesday, December 7, and it gives pride of place to PvP combat (ie “player against player”).

Enter the arena!

This free update of Coliseum will open the doors to an arena in which players can happily put themselves on the face. Several game modes will be relevant, and player avatars will be able to use their entire arsenal, including spirit ash summons. Enough to promise wild games until the end of the long winter nights.

Finally, the journalist Bloomberg Jason Schreier wanted to reassure fans of the game. According to him, FromSoftware wanted to ” Discard » of the PvP part in order to have the field clear to announce a real solo DLC at The Game Awards this Friday. In short, Elden Ring has not yet finished talking about him.
