Elden Ring DLC: FromSoftware reveals this new enemy with similarities to a Bloodborne creature

The Elden Ring universe will be expanded in a few weeks with the expansion Shadow of the Erdtree. The FromSoftware president has already revealed that the DLC will bring ten new bosses into the game, among other things.

In addition to that, there are probably many other creatures that you can encounter on the new map. The developer studio presented one of these enemies in a post on X (Twitter).

As you can see in the post, the enemy is characterized by a large, orange glowing head that is covered in a kind of net. In the comments under the post, numerous fans are already discussing the visual similarities to the well-known Bloodborne creature Winter Lantern.

The Winter Lantern is an enemy that uses its gaze to cause a rapid increase in Frenzy. This is a debuff that fills up similarly to a poison meter. Once the meter is full, you take massive damage based on your maximum health.

Some fans are now speculating that the new enemy could apply a similar effect to the players. One conceivable effect would be Madness, which, like Frenzy, causes massive damage and also removes focus points.

Since FromSoftware has not yet revealed any concrete details, it remains unclear how the new enemy actually acts in the game. Official details will be available on June 21st at the latest, when the expansion is released for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and Xbox One.
