Elden Ring: Embracing Fia, Consequences and Benefits

While diving into the Elden Ring adventure, players will be able to encounter many NPCs. Unfortunately, it is impossible to know if they will be allies or enemies when you speak to them for the very first time. It is often over the quests and hours that we discover which are the most benevolent.

However, very quickly, in the first hours of play, we are led to meet Fia, a young woman, in the Bastion of the Round Table. This then makes you a special request, the consequences and advantages of which should be known, before accepting or refusing.

Fia, hug her or not?

A special request: a hug with an NPC

By unlocking the Round Table Bastion, the central hub of Elden Ring, players will be able to talk to several NPCs. Among them, Fia. It is located in a bedroom. Weakened, she rests on a bed and makes a special request of you, from your first discussion with her.

Indeed, the latter will very quickly formulate her question, wondering if you want to hug her or not. While that hug sounds like a perfectly pleasant prospect, especially in a world as dangerous as Elden Ring, granting her request has its own set of consequences.

Consequences and advantages of this choice

If you agree to hug Fia, you will get the item named “Canopy’s Blessing”.. However, your attention should not be on this object, but rather on the icons positioned below your stamina bar. You will see a red square there, with an arrow pointing down. By hugging Fia, you then agreed to give her your Stamina. As a result, you lose 5% of your health bar.

However, don’t panic. It is entirely possible to undo this. By using the item she just gave you, you can fully recover your Stamina. And the Vigor loan between Fia and you will no longer apply. Note, however, that at any time, you can hug Fia again. And that only by talking to her. The consequences will then be the same.

On the other hand, by acceding to his request, you will then have the opportunity to follow his questinvolving in particular the mysterious character, named D. Without wanting to spoil you too many details of the lore, know all the same that this quest brings several precisions as for the scenario of Elden Ring.
