Elden Ring has a final secret… really?

Released two years ago, Elden Ring continues to excite players and this is not going to stop with the release this summer of Shadow of the Erdtreethe extension of theAction RPG of FromSoftware. Its designer Hidetaka Miyazaki is already in full promotion, he mentioned some new features that he particularly liked, but he also returned to the base game.

In an interview with IGNthe director of the game has in fact declared that, in his opinion, there is still one final secret that was not found in Elden Ring.

For me, personally, there is a small element that I think has not yet been discovered. So whether it comes down to user interpretation or just further investigation and play, it’s something I’m looking forward to. I think it’s a question of when and not if, but maybe there’s still a little something missing.

Obviously, fans raised an eyebrow when hearing this statement from Hidetaka Miyazaki. Elden Ring is an ultra popular title, players turned it on its head, analyzed its cryptic lore through lines of dialogue and item descriptions, going so far as to dig through the game files on PC so as not to miss anything. And yet, according to the game director, there still remains a secret… which may not be one, or which will never be discovered.

Zullie The Witch, dataminer very recognized in the world of Souls-likeindeed shared his feelings on X/Twitter, saying that Miyazaki’s statement is probably a little too sensationalist compared to the reality of the thing. According to her, there won’t be one big last secret to unearth, but perhaps several small details that have not yet been discovered. Even if fans all went looking for it, it would be very difficult to determine what element it is as Elden Ring is cryptic and subject to various interpretations. Especially since everything has already been documented, so according to Zullie The Witchit would rather be “something more ephemeral, an intention, connections, realizations, an understanding”.

Same story for his counterpart Sekiro Dubiwho adds that the language barrier could be an obstacle to finding this secret. Elden Ring was designed by Hidetaka Miyazaki in Japanese, but the community is predominantly English-speaking and the texts are difficult to translate perfectly, too subtle details were undoubtedly lost after translation.

Clearly, unless the game director officially confirms the discovery by scrutinizing the millions of messages concerning Elden Ring on social networks, videos and forums, this ultimate secret will undoubtedly remain hidden for a while longer. Anyway, the fans are already warming up for Shadow of the Erdtree by analyzing every sentence and image in the trailer, while waiting for the release on June 21. You can also pre-order Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Edition from €71.99 on Amazon Or Gamesplanet.
