Elden Ring: Players sickened by this sneaky farming technique…

In Elden Ring, there are dozens of ways to farm the game’s valuable runes, allowing you to level up and increase your stats more easily. The techniques for obtaining them are varied, some more accurate than others. For some time now, players looking for PvP combat have found themselves facing opponents… absent. Rather hidden, because the latter wait for their invader to commit suicide out of desperation not to find them, to then recover runes thanks to their “victory”.

Farm runes while AFK

In the Underworld, it is possible to allow random players to “invade” your world, to then fight in PvP. If you win this famous fight, you win a fairly large number of runes. Some deceitful Shardless have decided to exploit this system in order to farm as many runes as possible without (almost) doing anything.

These are placed in places where it is almost impossible to reach them, or even find them. For example, one of the favorite places for these AFK players is towards one of the first grace sites in the game, hidden in a corner of the pillars supporting the area, reachable only using Torrent. Once invasions are allowed by the host, random players join the world in question, and the mount becomes unusable.

On YouTube, dozens of explainer videos participated in the development of this phenomenon, showing step by step the secrets of these deceitful farmers. The player is seen using the Finger Remedy as well as the Tongue of Taunt, once out of sight. To top it off, some even turn into an object in order to blend into the decor and thus go completely unnoticed.

The angry community

It is true that this farming technique is totally unfair for players who joined the game to fight it out. It also forces them to give up the fight, thus losing any runes they could have earned fair game.

Some players have therefore found techniques in order to be able to reach their AFK opponents and thus fight them as best they can. Moreover, the subject having become popular, hiding places are becoming increasingly rare because the invaders now know where to look.

Among the many techniques used to circumvent them is also the counter-attack by AFK. Some invaders finding themselves faced with an untraceable host also stop moving, which then starts a war of patience, which sometimes forces AFK farmers to come out of hiding.

The solution to the problem

This type of shameful technique now making the rounds of the networks, it is likely that all this reaches the ears of FromSoftware, which will therefore find a solution to the problem. It is possible that in a future update of the game, these areas will be made inaccessible, or that Torrent will be allowed during invasions and/or in PvP combat, who knows ?

This language is a very popular multiplayer item among veterans of FromSoftware’s Dark Souls-style PvP, since it allows you to be invaded by other players, even when playing solo. Here is a short guide with a video to find it easily.
