Miyazaki explains that the graphics of the FromSoftware games never gets the highest priority and focus on other elements. But he doesn’t mean to downplay the work of the graphics team and praises Elden Ring as the best looking game they have ever made.

In fact, FromSoftware’s games are visually more striking because of their style and design than their graphic quality.

Miyazaki never played the PS5 remake

In the same interview, Miyazaki says that he never played the remake of Bluepoint. However, according to FromSoftware’s Game Director, he basically does not return to his old games. However, he is pleased that new players can now enjoy this comparatively old game. From his perspective as a developer, he also had fun watching what Bluepoint brought in new both visually and playfully and did things that FromSoftware would not have been able to do before or that they had not even thought of themselves.

The first game scenes of Elden Ring show, however, that FromSoftware was not unsettled by the “Demon’s Souls” remake. The graphics quality is on a good level, but it can already be seen that the real strengths have been retained, especially in the design of the game world and monsters.
