It is possible to buy runes (experience points) of Elden Ring on eBay, in order to level up faster. It is obviously not recommended to do so.
In Elden Ring, nothing is more precious than a Rune. Runes are used for everything in From Software’s demanding RPG: you can spend them to gain levels (at each level, the amount claimed increases) or use them as currency to buy items. In short, the more Runes we have, the happier we are. And, of course, some saw it as an opportunity to get rich, as PC Gamer spotted in a Feb. 5 post.
On Ebay, just type ‘elden ring runes’ in the search bar to find several ads promising mountains and wonders: in this case, millions of Runes for a few dollars (or euros). On paper, it is therefore possible to spoil the pleasure of developing your character in a few clicks, regardless of the version ofElden Ring which we play.
Buy 2 million Runes on eBay and lose them by getting killed
Eurogamer has tested the experience so we don’t have to. Journalist Ed Nightingale spent a handful of euros to acquire 2 million Runes. At first he thought it was a scam. But no: the seller gave him an appointment in Elden Ring — via cooperative mode — in order to do your part. The interested party then found himself with 2 million Runes all of a sudden, without really knowing what to do with them. Thanks to this deception, his Vagabond is still increased to level 94, with a Strength reaching 99 (compared to 14 at the start). Luckily, he didn’t get killed a few seconds after recovering his 2 million Runes (we can lose everything, if we don’t return to his corpse in time).
