Elden Ring: The best defense is hiding!

The world of Elden Ring is ruthless. But sometimes it’s not the ferocious creatures of the Underworld that are the problem, it’s the other Shardless. The game’s multiplayer system allows players to move from game to game in order to compete against others. If you come across the wrong one, this feature can quickly become hell…

The war against the AFK rune farmers

If you’ve explored the Underworld and exploited its multiplayer system, you’ve surely heard of the AFK rune farmersthose deceitful players who welcome others into their game and then hide, forcing the invader to disconnect.

All for the purpose of obtaining valuable runes, simply by staying in one place, for hours. AFK farmers don’t even need to stay active in the game, they can just go to an inaccessible place, and wait for the invaders to come and go.

But TeaSnarkera Reddit user decided to AFK his host, and thus take the latter to his own game. Using the mimetic veil, he thus turned into a bush, blending into the background, for hours.

Almost invisible…

“I’ve invaded an AFK farmer in Liurnia (no lie) five times in a row. He’s up on a cliff where you can’t reach him.

After 4 useless invasions, I’ve had enough. I decided that this host would not get one more rune from me. So when the hunters arrived, I ran away and put the mimetic veil in a bush. And I hid there. The bush enveloped and protected me.

Hunters eventually gave up and logged out, but I couldn’t log out otherwise the host would have runes. So I chose to stay in the bush.

It was three hours ago. Since then, I’ve seen dozens of hunters and invaders come and go, and all the while I’ve stayed in the bush. The bush is my home now. I won’t get out. You can’t take me out.

I have AFK the AFK farmer. Every time a hunter gets killed or disconnects, I get runes. And the host is going to come back with fewer runes than he expected, because one of his invader slots is permanently occupied by me crouching in my bush.”

Close to nature

On Reddit, TeaSnarker says he made a real connection with this bush that protected him and helped teach a deceitful gamer a lesson. The invader, close to nature, has proven to us that sometimes, it is good to fight fire with fire. If in Elden Ring you find yourself facing an AFK rune farmer, you will know what to do, provided you have time in front of you.

Our hero Let Me Solo Her (still in his underwear) once again surprises the Elden Ring community during the final stream in which he comes to kill the terrible Malenia instead of the players. Thus, it definitely fits into the legend of FromSoftware’s title.
