In Elden Ring, you can summon spirits if you have collected and equipped ashes for pets. You can be summoned when the grave symbol lights up in the bottom left of the picture. You should use this if you want to make the fights easier for you. As far as we know, you can always summon ghosts in a boss area.

You’ve probably already collected some ghost ashes and maybe also leveled up with Roderika. If you’re still undecided about which spirits to summon, we’ll give you three very clear recommendations for the beginning to the end of the game.

Ashes of the Skeleton Militia

Especially in the first quarter of the game we recommend the Ashes of the Skeleton Militia, which you can get in the north-east of Limgrave at Deadwater Village. Just take out the Ghost Boatswain.

You summon two skeletons that keep the enemy busy and the special thing is that they just get up again after death and always draw attention to themselves. This gives you enough time to attack distracted bosses or quickly drink a healing potion.

Mimic Tear Ashes (“Mimic”)

The skeletons will help you in many battles, but as you progress through the story and your exploration, I’m sure you’ll want even stronger spirits to be your comrades. No problem. Here are the two strongest ghosts in the game, starting with the Mimic Ash.

You can find them in Nokron during the Ranni quest and you need a stone sword key to access them. The Mimic Tears Ash is considered to be the strongest Ash ever. You use it to summon an image of your character with the same equipment. Imagine someone as strong as you are fighting with you against enemies.

You can even equip heavy items and heavy mana draining spells, summon the ash, and then switch back to a slightly more balanced gear yourself.

In addition, summoning this spirit only costs you 660 life and not focus points. You should then of course have significantly more life points than the stated amount, but this fact is enormously helpful if you haven’t invested many points in the “Spirit” attribute.

Tiche, the Black Blade

Similar in strength to Mimic Tears Ash is Tiche, the Ebon Blade. You get the ashes if you win the duel against Alecto in the north-west of the Moonlight Altar (Liurna, south-west). However, it is one of the hardest fights in the game.

But the victory is worth it, because if you summon this ash, you can only watch the boss fight. Once Tiche has leveled up completely to level ten, he can also defeat formidable opponents alone. You’re almost kidding yourself, that’s how strong this spirit is.

If you feel like you don’t have enough life or focus points, you should probably level up a bit. We tell you the best places to farm runes and give you many more tips for Elden Ring.
