Since its release last FebruaryElden Ring achieved monumental success and topped charts around the world. Defined by many as one of the best games of the year, FromSoftware’s video game production has been talked about on all platforms… including YouTube. The latter even describes Elden Ring as the biggest game launch ever, with monumental numbers on the platform in just 60 days after release. Recently, YouTube Gaming unveiled some impressive data, showing the impact of Elden Ring on the broadcast platform.
“How did Elden Ring take over YouTube?”
In just two months, FromSoftware’s game has achieved over 3.4 billion views on YouTube. A phenomenal figure that has set the bar very, very high for other video game productions that are struggling to achieve the same statistics. In comparison, GTA V, which is the second biggest video game success of the platform, realized at its launch “only” 1.9 billion views. Admittedly, in 2013 (the year Rockstar’s game was launched), YouTube was not as popular and developed as it is today.
If we take a more recent title, like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo’s video game production has recorded 638 million views during the first two months of its launch. A nice difference all the same with the figures recorded by the FromSoftware game.
Thanks to the various speedrun videos, challenges, tips, builds, boss fights, Elden Ring has risen to the top of YouTube charts and totally flipped the platform.
