The last few months have been eventful in the world of video games. The reason ? The acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft which continued to face twists and turns. And it’s not about to stop, a document from the publisher states that the next opus ofElder Scrolls will do without a very specific community of players.

If for a few days now Starfield players have been immersed body and soul in the space title, this Bethesda license would not be the only one to be an Xbox Series and PC exclusive. Indeed, according to a note from Microsoft, The Elder Scrolls VI should also be part of the very private circle of the excluded.

The Elder Scrolls VI would be an Xbox and PC exclusive!

Before getting to the heart of the matter, it is always good to remember that here, the statements which follow have not yet been affirmed or denied by Microsoft and Bethesda. We must therefore take the following remarks with a pinch of salt. But anyway, The Elder Scrolls VI would be, according to our colleagues from The Verge, an Xbox and PC exclusive. In any case, this is what Tom Warren, Senior editor at The Vergeon the social network X.com, formerly Twitter.

But then, what is this document? Well, as we were able to tell you a little above, for months now, we have been waiting for the firm and definitive signature of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, and here, this document would have been presented as part of the opposing lawsuit Microsoft to the FTC regarding this matter. This decision may be quite surprising since the previous opuses of the license were able to benefit from a release on PlayStation, at least The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim (PS4 and PS5) and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3).

Fans of The Elder Scrolls will have to wait

If The Elder Scrolls VI was announced in 2018, at the same time as Starfieldit will only appear in a few years.

As evidenced by the document shared by Tom Warren, we indeed see that the next title in the license is only planned for release in 2026 only, or… later. We can never say it enough, but things can still change, whether in a good or bad direction.

Regardless, we will now have to wait before having official communication from Bethesda. We will know more in the months, if not the weeks to come, with, we hope, a precise and definitive release date. In the meantime, you can always discover or rediscover the old opuses, in particular the excellent Skyrim !
