At the age of 87 she was still giving flute lessons, now at 105 she no longer has any students: Sister Maria Nopp. “Back then, almost 50 years ago, she didn’t just teach from the front. Later, when I was in Pädak, group work and chair circles were taught as new pedagogical achievements. Sister Maria was a teacher for years and taught religion, German, art education and music Born in Linz, she entered the Ursuline Order in 1938 after graduating from the federal teacher training institute in Linz and made her final profession in Paris in 1941. In 1945 Sr. Maria returned to Linz, where she taught at the school of the order. After stays in Rome and Brussels, Sr. Maria took over the management of the Ursuline boarding school in Linz in 1959. After the closure of the Ursuline Convent and the associated schools in Linz in 1968, the then 51-year-old Sr. Maria moved to the convent in Klagenfurt. Her hobbies include literature and music.
