More than twenty mayors and deputies, mainly from the left, call for taking “a real measure in favor of the poorest 10% of the population” hit by the crisis, in a letter addressed to Emmanuel Macron published Monday, January 16 in West France.

“The major projects for 2023 must be, first and foremost, the attention paid to single-parent families, to the education and training of young people”write the signatories, including the PS mayor of Alfortville, Luc Carvounas, president of the National Union of Communal Centers for Social Action (Unccas).

They also plead for support “to economic development, to allow each citizen access to employment, adapted and sometimes accompanied, which allows him his financial autonomy, and the construction of the society of “aging well” “.

“Reception should no longer see central administrations dumping themselves on the municipalities, out of breath and resources. »

They also ask that the municipal social action centers (CCAS) be “fully integrated into the RSA reform assessment and construction processes [revenu de solidarité active]Solidarité à la source or France Travail, these three measures directly impacting the optional aid delivered by the CCAS, and therefore their beneficiaries”.

Among the signatories are the mayors of several cities, such as the PS Olivier Bianchi (Clermont-Ferrand) and Yann Galut (Bourges) or the LR Isabelle Le Callennec (Vitré), as well as deputies from cities led by the left, such as Bordeaux , Lyon, Rennes, Nantes or Le Mans.
