Activists vote Thursday night to appoint their first secretary. Their choice will depend on the face of the Socialist Party and the future of Nupes.

Por a man who has made the union a campaign argument, it couldn’t have been better. The demonstration of this Thursday, January 19 against the pension reform, where all the left-wing parties are in a hurry, is holy bread for Olivier Faure, present in the front row. The same evening, the first secretary of the Socialist Party plays big: he puts his mandate at stake in an undecided ballot.

Opposed to Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, Olivier Faure came out ahead in the vote on the orientation texts on Thursday January 12, but he missed the majority of the militant vote by a hair (49.15%). Mayer-Rossignol immediately received the support of Hélène Geoffroy, the third woman in this first round who was not really one.
