Google puts users to work

AI could just make life easier for those looking to charge their electric vehicles. Google is rolling out an update to its Maps application that will make it easier to find electric charging stations, especially in hard-to-find places.

And to do this, the American firm relies on users, whom it questions and will question on the application, in order to know numerous details such as the type of socket used or the success or otherwise of the loading operation . As much information as is will be transmitted to the AI, which can then render it on Google Maps.

Some car models will be spoiled

The new features will be even more important for those benefiting from an electric vehicle in which Google Maps has been natively integrated. These include certain models from the Volvo or Polestar brands.

Drivers of the latter will thus be able to know the real-time availability of charging ports, as well as the real time needed to refuel their vehicle.

The American digital giant is not its first attempt in the field, since recently, it has increasingly adapted the application to the ever-increasing niche of electric vehicles. For example, last year it deployed an update intended to help owners of this type of vehicle better plan their journeys.
