With the CSC ES5, a new electric scooter is rolling towards us. On the plus side, it has a chic look and a comparatively low price. And he has three interchangeable batteries.
At first glance, the new CSC ES5 e-scooter looks as pleasing as the Kymco F9, has a removable battery like the Niu models and costs significantly less than Piaggio’s e-Vespa, for example. Unfortunately, it is currently not yet available in Germany and will officially only be available from 2023.

But the technical data read quite promising. With a top speed of 85 km/h, it can even be used on the city motorway, but of course it cannot replace an (electric) motorcycle.

The e-scooter, designed for inner-city traffic, offers a 5 kW (peak power 8 kW) motor, which transmits its power to the rear wheel via a belt. Another special feature of the ES5 are the three interchangeable batteries that can be removed from the home socket for easy charging.
A 60 volt battery has a capacity of 31 ampere hours. All three batteries together have around 5.6 kilowatt hours. According to the manufacturer, this results in a typical range of almost 110 kilometers. However, this information relates to the impractical assumption that you are constantly traveling at a speed of 50 km/h.
price and availability
In the US, the CSC ES5 is currently available for $4,995 (€4,575). For comparison: The 45 km/h fast Vespa Elettria costs at least 7,000 euros in Germany. We present the electric scooters available in Germany in this overview.
